Today’s Easter service was unlike any I have attended. It was short and I joined it from the comfort of my lounge, via Zoom. There were few of the things you would expect from an Anglican service – no shared Gloria, no Easter hymns, no Eucharist.
But it was lovely and special to be able to meet up with friends, to meditate on God’s word, and to pray.
A few years ago we were celebrating Easter at Portobello Baptist Church with the Revd Andy Scarcliffe. That was a lively service which ended with party poppers, kazoos, mini trumpets and tambourines! It was fabulous.
Very different services, but both memorable and filled with the awe that Easter brings. However you are marking today, I wish you a Happy and Blessed Easter.
